In Ukraine, a cryptocurrency consultant is suspected of stealing 90 thousand US dollars.
An elderly couple approached him with a request to help them buy cryptocurrency. The man happily responded to help them buy 1 bitcoin. He registered a cold wallet and transferred 1 btc there. The consultant gave the customers all the necessary passwords for entering the crypto wallet, including 12 secret words. This completed the deal.
After 2 months, the elderly people decided to check their crypto assets. Bitcoin had risen in price and they could sell it profitably. But, to their surprise, the crypto wallet was empty. No one except them had access to the wallet. From which the couple concluded that they had been robbed by their own consultant.
The pensioners called the police, where they told the whole story. The consultant has already been arrested and is being interrogated. He claims that he did not take anything and that most likely the pensioners' wallet was compromised by viruses that are probably present on their computer.
Be that as it may, it is quite difficult to prove his guilt, and now only the cyber police can do this.
