The young people came to this country on vacation in 2023. But it was precisely their knowledge of foreign languages that played a cruel joke on them. The thing is that criminal groups in many developing countries of the world consider it a great success to kidnap people of this level. After all, they can be used in so-called call centers, where operators call people from other countries and in every possible way persuade them to invest their funds in dubious crypto projects.
This is exactly what happened to our tourists. The guys believed a fake job ad for a highly paid job, where they were kidnapped. For the next 2 years, they had to work for food in one of the call centers in Jakarta. According to the victims, more than 20 similar victims worked there. It was a large center and perhaps for this reason they were saved. After all, the police cannot always find small call centers in time in a huge metropolis. In addition, small call centers are very mobile and often change premises for their dirty work.
Now the young people are safe and testifying. It is difficult to say how many gullible citizens lost their savings from the work of this call center, but according to the police, we are talking about millions of dollars.
