One evening, Sergey finally made up his mind. He sent a short message by email and waited for a reply. Surprisingly, he received a reply immediately.
Sergey had long suspected that something important was hidden in an abandoned garage in an industrial area on the outskirts of the city — after all, someone had posted a message on an abandoned forum for crypto enthusiasts. The message hinted at a hiding place with keys to a “dormant” wallet. The wallet contained a significant amount — 90 BTC — and the owner was willing to give 15% to anyone who could restore access. In addition, the person wanted to remain anonymous and guaranteed anonymity to the executor as far as possible.
Methodically, step by step, he combed through every room of the old factory. At the end of the corridor, he thought he heard a door creak. There must be a room here where an engineer once sat and worked, he thought. Drops falling on the floor from holes in the roof melodically counted the seconds. Finally, he saw the glare of electric light in a puddle. This must be it, he thought.
The old heavy door creaked unpleasantly when he leaned on it with all his weight, but it gave way. Entering the room, he saw the silhouette of a man rummaging through some old papers. He went in and said hello. After talking to the stranger, he realized that the task would not be as easy as it seemed at first. There were too many unknown factors without which it was impossible to put this puzzle together. He understood that in order to access the funds and collect the promised reward, he might also need to find the seed phrase. He would have to find at least some clues.
Searching for information in old emails and social networks yielded no results. He thought to himself: Oh well... Perhaps analyzing the blockchain transactions associated with the wallet would yield results. He would have to look for patterns in the comments on the transactions associated with the address from the first stage. For some reason, he remembered the papers and the old USB flash drive from the garage, which was not quite like a regular storage device. Maybe the code was hidden there somewhere?
The ninth week passed. The old heavy door opened. Crossing the threshold, he heard a familiar voice: “Hello. You helped me a lot. Thank you.”
Today he met with a stranger. Now Sergey only had to exchange the cryptocurrency for fiat money and then withdraw it to his bank card. A dilemma arose: should he exchange it for hryvnia or dollars? He did not intend to stay in Ukraine. During this time, Sergey had done a tremendous amount of work. He had reviewed and rethought vast amounts of information. And it was worth it. He found all the answers to his questions and finally received his well-deserved reward.
