It is no secret that today you can sell or buy cryptocurrency quite easily via the Internet. In any large city in Europe, you can find a person who will be happy to help you with such an exchange. The Internet is full of advertisements with similar services and, of course, not all of them can be trusted. Which is what happened in the city of Lugano in the south of Switzerland.
An Italian was looking for where he could sell cryptocurrency and found an interesting advertisement with the best rate on the Internet. He agreed to conduct an exchange in the city of Lugano at a branch of one of the banks.
Everything looked very reliable, since the exchange was offered completely legally in a well-known bank. He went to the meeting by train, taking a friend with him. The journey was not long and that same day they met at the bank and began to count the money. According to the victim, the first thing that became suspicious was that the man who brought the euros was in a hurry and asked to count them as soon as possible.
When they counted the larger half and checked their authenticity with a special machine, the fraudster said that they had spent too much time and he could not wait any longer. He insisted that he was late for another meeting and offered to quickly complete the transaction without checking the authenticity of the remaining bills. Only after the exchange was completed, the victim realized that about 30% of the bills were counterfeit. He immediately contacted the bank employees. They told him that they did not know this person. After this, the victim immediately contacted the police.
